Description

89-3036 – Myler Eggbutt with Hooks & Forward Tilted Port

Design: A oval shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece. Function: Direct action – applies same amount of rein pressure to the mouth. More direct signal than Loose Ring. Will not pull through the mouth or pinch. Usage: Used in English and Western. Options: Hooks are available on Eggbutt Rings. Hooks fix attachment of reins and headstall and allow bit to work like a leverage bit. When reins are pulled upward and backward, mouthpiece rolls downward and backward into the mouth while pulling downward on the poll.

The Ported Barrel Mouth Piece (MB 36)

Design: Mouthpiece with upward curve and jointed barrel in centre. Entire mouthpiece is tilted forward.

Function: When the horese is not relaxed at the poll, this unique mouthpiece restricts the tongue and put downwards pressure on top of bars. Once the horse is relaxed a the poll the mouthpiece releases the tongue and works off the bars. Each side of the mouthpiece moves independantly. Turns into a solid mouthpiece when asking for a stop. Some tongue relief offered by port

Level: 2 – 3

Usage/Solution for: A mild bit, the Myler Forward Tilt Ported Barrel mouthpiece works well with intermediate and finished horses. With independant side movement, it is a good for bending, lifting the horse that gets behind the bridle or encouraging a horse to relax at the poll. Works well for stopping and horses which need a lot of tongue relief.
