Description
The MB 33 provides a high level of tongue relief making it particularly suitable for horses with a large or particularly sensitve tongue. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate on to the tongue and the port is wide, it applies very little tongue pressure, working primarily off the lips and bars. The port is wide but only 1 1/2 inches high so it will not apply very much palate pressure making this a very comfortable bit for the horse that may resist the contact in bits which apply more pressure on the tongue.
The bit also features independent side movement and a stainless steel mouthpiece with copper inlay to encourage acceptance and salivation.

The addition of the hooks to the cheek pieces of this bit add versatility. By attaching the cheekpieces of the bridle through the hooks, the bit is made more stable, thus further reducing pressure or movement of the bit on the tongue. Attaching the reins to the rein hook will allow the rider to lift the cheek piece and activate the independent side movement of the bit. The bit also has small loops to which a curb can be added if desired.
